Default Hesitated purchasing... but no regrets

I was seriously hesitant about buying EotN. I had heard about how short it is, and more importantly, heard about all the title grinding. I have a huge problem with grind and have been upset each time something ANet introduced something for PvE that increased effectiveness only by grinding. I wasn't impressed with the new armors or even many of the new skills to boot.

Alas, I caved, I went out to PlayNC, and I bought it. Despite all of the already mentioned disappointments, I am having a great time with this expansion and think it is the best PvE content Guild Wars has seen to date. The environments are very well done and immersive, and the soundtrack is the best since Prophecies. The enemy mobs are far more interesting (and challenging in a good way) than the enemies in any other campaign, by FAR. And the dungeons, for me, are the icing on the cake. They are extremely engaging and I can definitely see myself going through them multiple times.

All of these things have managed to breathe new life into Guild Wars for me. After experiencing what EotN has to offer I fear that most of the areas in the campaign content will feel very bland in comparison. Obviously the game is not perfect- there are many flaws in the content that I have already mentioned. In addition to those I have noted that the loot is somewhat bad, I still can't use 7 heroes, and it also would be nice to have the titles and HoM be account based (wouldn't it be awesome to see all of your character's elite armors on display at once?)

Overall I feel that the good outweighs the bad here. If you like GW PvE, you will love EotN. I hope ANet makes some improvements to the content over the next few weeks, but if you are on the fence about buying this expansion, I say go for it. I know I don't reget it.

With all the whinning and crying that go on within these forums you would have to be a fool to listen to it all. Honestly, GW:EN is a great expansion and you'll have fun playing it.

Well, I think there are a lot of valid reasons for people to be complaining. And even though I think it is a great expansion and that the good outweighs the bad, other people may feel entirely different.

However, I couldn't agree more that you will have fun playing it (if, ya know, you play to have fun.)
